Path Group are acting a recruiting partner on behalf of a busy GP Practice on the Isle of Wight. The member practices work closely together at scale and collaborate with others in the local health and social care system.
The Practice is seeking a paramedic to join their team as an important clinical member of the practice.
This role would suit a paramedic who wants to develop their career beyond the emergency services and engage with more depth with patients.

Main duties of the role
As Paramedic practitioner, you will work as an autonomous, accountable Practitioner, providing a holistic approach including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and signposting, to deliver a high standard of patient care. You will support and work along side the clinical team which consists of: GP Lead, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Pharmacist and Physician Associates as well as a remote supporting physio.
- Work as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide safe and high level first contact care.
- Assess and triage patients, including same day triage, and as appropriate provide definitive treatment or make necessary referrals to other members of the team
- Undertake home visits including to care homes and community facilities.
- Advise patients on general healthcare and promote self-management where appropriate, including signposting patients to other community or voluntary services.
- Perform specialist health checks and reviews including ECGS
- Undertake the collection of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, etc. e. perform investigatory procedures needed by same day home visits
Qualifications
Essential:
- Educated to degree/diploma level in Paramedicine or equivalent experience •
- Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration •
- Evidence of completion of two year ‘Consolidation of Learning’ period as a “newly qualified paramedic” •
- A minimum of a further three years’ experience working as a band 6 (or equivalent) paramedic
Desirable:
- Evidence of working towards developing masters’ level or equivalent capability in paramedic areas of practice and, within six months of the commencement to have completed and been signed off formally within the clinical pillar competencies of the paramedic FCP/AP roadmap to practice.
- Non-medical prescribing qualification
